Sumsub and Chainlink Build Cross-Chain Identity

Sumsub, a verification provider for the crypto industry, and Chainlink, a decentralized oracle network, announced a new partnership focused on on-chain compliance. The companies are working together to bring identity verification across multiple blockchains without exposing personal data.

The integration uses Chainlink’s Automated Compliance Engine. The Cross-Chain Identity system allows users to verify themselves once and reuse that status across different networks. This approach is designed to solve a common issue in crypto, where users often repeat KYC checks on every platform.

A user completes verification through Sumsub and confirms wallet ownership. After that, Chainlink issues a credential with basic claims, such as age confirmation. No sensitive data is stored on-chain. This allows protocols to check eligibility without accessing personal details.

The first rollout covers major networks including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Polygon, and Base. It is aimed at retail users joining early access campaigns. In the next stage, expected in summer 2026, the focus will shift to asset issuers. Later updates may allow users to grant access to their data through APIs.
