Top Cryptos Struggle as Hyperliquid (HYPE) Only One Pushing Higher

With double-digit gains, Hyperliquid's native token $HYPE emerges as the clear winner among the largest assets in the cryptocurrency market, while Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and $XRP struggle to maintain their momentum. $HYPE is the only asset in the top five cryptocurrencies by futures open interest to see significant growth, according to the most recent market data, which shows that it has increased by more than 11% in the past day.
Big players are out of it
While overall market activity remained relatively low during that time, Ethereum gained slightly more than 1%, and Bitcoin gained less than 1%.

Even more notable is the fact that $HYPE's performance took place despite a notable decline in the overall volume of derivatives in the cryptocurrency market. The trading volume for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and $XRP dropped by 25% to 30% during the day. In contrast, Hyperliquid experienced a nearly 14% increase in volume and an incredible 15% increase in open interest.
The divergence shows that traders are continuing to rotate capital into the Hyperliquid ecosystem despite a decline in participation elsewhere.
From a technical perspective, $HYPE remains one of the healthies charts available. The asset broke above the $60 resistance zone and quickly continued its rally toward new all-time highs near $65. The daily trend is still very bullish, and the price is trading well above all major moving averages.
The 20-day, 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day moving averages are all positively aligned, which is typically associated with sustained upward trends.
Momentum indicators support the optimistic narrative. The Relative Strength Index, which is still high near overbought territory, reflects strong buying pressure. This highlights how strong demand is currently driving the rally, but it also raises the possibility of short-term volatility.
Hyperliquid's explosive growth
Outside of the cryptocurrency community, Hyperliquid is gaining popularity. In a widely publicized interview, the founder and CEO of Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, talked about Hyperliquid's rapid rise. "It's intriguing to see how many billionaires are created as a result of this. The Hyperliquid we are talking about is bigger than Nasdaq, in case you were unaware. It's eleven people," he went on. "You think, 'Wow, that's pretty something,' when you look at it."
